What our students say about MUN
Mavy S.
I participated in MUN Rome during my second year of my Bachelor’s program, an experience I would do again a thousand times! In addition to improving my English and gaining the ability to work in a team and deal with the unexpected with rationality, I understood what I wanted to do in the future. Last year I got an internship at the United Nations in Geneva and I must say that it was also thanks to what I learned with MUN that I was able to maximize my experience!
Domiziana B.
Participating in Mun Rome was one of the most exciting and fun experiences of my college journey. It allowed me to gain cross-curricular skills, meet interesting and passionate people, and challenge myself.

Preparing yourself for the project
General information
Once the country and committee assignments have been received, each delegate representing a UN member country will be required to write a Position Paper. This is a political statement that reflects the country’s views on the committee’s topic. The Position Paper should outline the relevant international and regional resolutions, conventions, and treaties that support your country’s position. It is essential to identify the key issues, explain your country’s policy, and propose solid recommendations to be implemented. Observer members and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are not required to write a Position Paper. For more details on how to write an effective Position Paper, see the MUN-EUROPE Position Paper Guidelines.
Format and guidelines
- The length of the document must not exceed one page.
- Standard margins, with Arial 10pt font and justified text.
- The inclusion of the flag or national coat of arms in the header is accepted.
- The represented country, the committee, and the topic must be clearly indicated before the text.
- Do not include citations or bibliography: the Position Paper is a political statement and must be written as if it were a real diplomatic representative writing it; it is not an academic paper.
- The document must be submitted in a pdf format.
- Each delegate may submit only one Position Paper related to their assignment.
- Each delegate will represent the country in the committee individually.
- A faculty advisor or Head delegate can upload all the Position papers of their delegation to the platform.
Please note that Position Papers must consist entirely of original writing. Based on their research, delegates must develop their own ideas and recommendations and present them in their own words. MUN-EUROPE does not tolerate plagiarism, including the reproduction of the content of the Background guides.
Deadline for submitting Position Papers: 10 April 2026 at 23:59

All you need to know
Participating in a MUN project means embarking on an educational experience that begins at the moment of registration and develops through several stages, from the training course to the simulation and the trip.
Registration and choice of program
Students can choose between two types of experiences.
- MUN•EUROPE: held in cities such as Rome, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, London, Vienna, and Malta. Each simulation lasts three days (see the official page of each project) and is open to middle school, high school, and university students. Sessions are always organized separately by educational level, ensuring a pathway suited to each age group. In these projects, MUN•EUROPE organizes only the simulation; travel and accommodation are free to arrange individually, although for school groups support is available through our partner tour operator.
- MUN New York – High Schools: a program dedicated to high school students, with four days of simulation and city tours organized by MUN•EUROPE. Students are always accompanied by tutors and teachers, who guide them throughout the activities and daily life.
- MUN New York – Universities: designed for university students, it includes four days of simulation and additional days dedicated to cultural and institutional visits in New York. As adults, participants are free to manage their own free time, while still having the opportunity to join activities organized by our staff.
- MUN Washington DC: reserved for university students, it consists of a five-day program, including three days of simulation in the U.S. capital, followed by a transfer to New York for further academic and cultural activities. Students are free to manage their free time, with the option to join institutional visits.
Difference between the “Weeks”
The different Weeks we offer mainly differ in two aspects: the dates of the experience and the American partner organization responsible for running the simulation. In all cases, the conferences are selected and recognized by MUN•EUROPE and its staff as among the best and most competitive simulations in New York and Washington DC.
Preparation before departure
Once registration is completed, participants receive the materials necessary for preparation.
For all MUN USA programs and for those choosing the Complete package in MUN•EUROPE, an online training course is provided with six live afternoon lessons, each lasting about three hours, led by our faculty. This program covers all the skills required to successfully face the simulation: rules of procedure, international relations, negotiation, and public speaking. In addition, access to an e-learning platform with a library of more than 50 recorded video lessons will be provided.
Those who choose the Delegate or Observer packages for MUN•EUROPE will instead receive study materials via email to prepare independently.
The simulation and the experience
During MUN•EUROPE, students take part in three days of simulation, with no extra activities organized: free time is entirely managed by the participants.
- In MUN USA – Universities (New York and Washington DC), the simulation takes place over four days, with additional days for cultural or institutional visits. Being adults, students are free to organize their free time.
- In MUN USA – High Schools, the entire experience is carried out as a group under the supervision of tutors and teachers. Simulation days alternate with city tours, following a shared itinerary provided to students and parents before departure. Meals are also managed as a group: students can freely choose what to eat within designated areas, with set meeting times. The simulation itself lasts four days, with the remaining days dedicated to exploring the city.
Conclusion and certification
At the end of each experience, participants receive the official certificate of participation and a detailed report listing the total hours completed throughout the program. Both MUN•EUROPE and MUN USA certifications are recognized as valuable titles for enriching one’s educational path and curriculum.

Visa Information
Participation in the MUN does not require a study visa but a tourist visa. - Once we have received the payment, we are entitled to ask for proof of your studies to confirm your eligibility to participate. The teacher or delegation leader must provide us with a list of students participating in the project.
